2019 Genealogy Classes & Symposium
The African American History Ministry in partnership with the African American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) and the Comprehensive Genealogical Services (CGS), are sponsoring Beginning and Intermediate/Advanced Genealogy classes during the months of January and February, 2019.
Classes will be held on Monday nights from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm on the following dates: January 14 and 28 (2019) and February 4, 11, and 18 (2019). The classes will conclude with a Symposium on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Book and Movie Review: The Hate You Give
The FMBC Social Justice Ministry and Youth Ministry will be presenting the book and movie review, The Hate You Give (THUG) by author, Angie Thomas. The book ‘”focuses on the shooting of an unarmed African-American teenager and to give young people a voice and show they are valued.”
Come join us on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 12:00p-3:00p in the Choir Room.

We are seeking youth voices to serve as panelists in sharing personal insight about racial tension in school and community accompanied by the fear of being randomly stopped, searched and questioned without known provocation. Express your interest to serve on the panel no later than January 31, 2019 to either Sisters Betaudier or Deveaux.
