Who do I contact when a member has death in the family?
Call the church office to let us know about the death of someone in your family. The receptionist will gather the initial information from you and give it to a member of our ministerial staff. A ministerial staff person or member of the Deacons Council will contact you as soon as possible.
What if the death occurs after normal church hours or on a holiday?
You may leave a detail message on our 24-hour Sick-n-Shut Line (704-391-3884) which is checked daily by one of our ministers. You may also contact one of the Deacons on call. Their contact information may be found in your weekly bulletin or on this website under the "About Us" / "Contact Us" tab.
I need the church's assistance as I go through a close family member's illness or death?
Who do I contact at Friendship?
Pastoral care and spiritual counseling for Friendship members is the responsibility of the DeiVision Minister for Spiritual Guidance and Wellness. Call his Administrative Assistant at 704-391-3866 to set an appointment. He will give your situation the priority it deserves.
How can my personal request be placed on the weekly prayer list?
You may email us at sicknshutin@friendshipcharotte.org or leave us a detail message on our 24-hour Sick-n-Shut Line (704-391-3884) to be placed on, or taken off the sick and shut-in, bereavement and special circumstances lists.
Must I be a member of Friendship to be on the Sick and Shut In list?
While this list is not exclusively for Friendship members, we ask that a Friendship member leave a detail message on our 24-hr Sick-n-Shut Line (704-391-3884) or email us at sicknshutin@friendshipcharotte.org.

Because of illness and/or hospitalization, I have been house-bound for some time and unable to attend the weekly worship services. What is available to me?
There are several services available to you. You may request the Member Services Representative (704-391-3850) to mail you monthly bulletins and audiotapes. Additionally, you may request through the Deacons Council that communion be served to you and other family members on the first Sunday of the month.
Is there a support system for senior adults?
Yes, there is a minister for seniors, Rev. Herb Rhedrick and he can be reached at 704-391-3846. In addition, there are senior care teams which provide additional support to seniors who may be hospitalized, experiencing bereavement or sick at home.
Must I be a member of Friendship to have my infant child's blessing and dedication at Friendship?
One of the child's parents should be a member of Friendship to have a child included in the service. Appointments and counseling for this arrangement should be made through the office of Spiritual Guidance and Wellness, 704-391-3866.
What volunteer ministry opportunities are available at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church?

I have recently moved to a new residence. Does the ministerial staff perform house blessings for members?
Yes. Contact Pastor Jones' Executive Assistant at 704-391-3864 to arrange a house blessing and dedication. A member of the ministerial staff or Deacons Council will schedule a time with you for this special service.
I have changed jobs and moved to a new residence. Who do I contact to update my family's information?
Call our Member Information Specialist at 704-391-6628 to update you and your family's home address, work and home phone numbers. Please do this as soon as possible so that you will not miss any pertinent information sent to you from the church.
Does Friendship offer family, child, and marriage counseling?
Friendship offers its members counseling for families with children and marriage counseling through the DeiVision of Spiritual Guidance and Wellness. Call 704-391-3866 to set an appointment.
Is there any service available to members that will assist them in finding employment?
We ask members to provide us with a list of job openings at their places of employment or other businesses in the community. These positions are listed and made available upon inquiry at the church.
Does Friendship post its openings for church staff jobs?
Friendship makes information available about positions on the church staff. Call Human Resources at 704-391-6632 for more information.

How do I get a copy of my contribution statement?
Contact the Accounting Department to request a copy of your contribution statement. Our General Accountant (704-391-6646) can assist you with this request. You may email your inquiry to smiller@friendshipcharlotte.org for a response, as well.

I have run out of pre-printed contribution envelopes.
How do I get more of the personalized envelopes?
Make your request to the Member Information Specialist (704-391-6628). She will make sure that more envelopes are disbursed to you via mail. For a more timely response, you may email your inquiry to ngrice@friendshipcharlotte.org as well. This also may be a good opportunity to update the information captured in your member record.
I want my contributions to be electronically drafted from my checking/savings account by the church. How do I make this happen?
The General Accountant (704-391-6646) can assist you in establishing a routine electronic transfer from your account to the church's account. You can start and stop this service upon request. You also have the option of contributing to the ministry via credit/debit card, either for a one-time gift or as a recurring charge. Authorization forms are available in both hard and soft copy formats to enroll in all electronic payment options. Credit/Debit transactions are not permitted over the phone. You may also contact the General Accountant by email at smiller@friendshipcharlotte.org.
Use of Church Building and Facilities
I am a Friendship member and want to use one of the rooms at the church for a church organization meeting. Who should I contact and what is involved?
Members who want to use the church facilities for ministry related activities should contact their DeiVision Minister/Ministry Leader for a space usage application and authorization. You will then be directed to the Church Space Usage Scheduler (704-391-6652). She will let you know if the space is available for the date(s) you desire.

I am a Friendship member and my community organization wants to use one of Friendship's meeting rooms for one of their meetings. Does Friendship allow community organizations to use the church space?
Please contact the Church Space Usage Scheduler (704-391-6652) to make your request. The Church Administrator will review the request for consistency of use with church practices, and if applicable - authorize.
Must I be a member of Friendship to use the church for my wedding?
No. However, only Christian weddings are performed at Friendship. You should also be aware that the cost for the facilities and services that you use at the church will differ for members and non-members. Please call Pastor Jones' Executive Assistant at 704-391-3864 or the Chairperson of the Wedding Ministry at 704-391-6676 for more detailed information.
What are the office hours and holidays for the church's administrative staff?
Our office hours are as follows: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The church staff observes the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, Easter Monday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after Christmas.
Is the church building open beyond the staff's office hours?
Yes. The church facility is open most evenings until 9:00p.m., except Wednesday when the building is closed at 7:00 p.m. for Bible study at 3301 Beatties Ford Road. These closing times are to accommodate organizational meetings and rehearsal times for choirs and ensembles.

Copy Center Services
How do I get copies made for the ministry activities of my Friendship group?
The services of our Copy Center are available to all Friendship organizations for their print copy needs. Copy Center hours are Mondays and Tuesdays from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For additional information, contact the Member Information Specialist at 704-391-6628.
Is there a charge for the copies I make for my ministry group?
Cost for the copies you request will be charged to your ministry group. Church ministries are charged the same rate that the church is charged through the copy equipment vendor.
Can I get personal copies made for me or a group not related to Friendship?
Yes. Our Copy Center services are available to outside groups, organizations, and companies. There is a direct charge for all the copies requested. Contact the Member Information Specialist at 704-391-6628, or Technology Manager at 704-391-6630 for current pricing.

Announcements and Bulletin Information
What internal resources available to distribute information out about our ministry's activities?
Friendship has a number of communication channels available for ministries to provide information to our membership. The weekly ministry guide in the bulletin, the monitors throughout the church, the Friendship website, and pre-approved special appeals during Sunday morning worship services. Also, ministry leaders can contact the church's technology department at 704-391-6628 to request that a telephone message go to all of the members within their ministry via electronic phone messaging (Phone Tree).
How do I access these communication channels?
Your DeiVision Minister will be your guide and will usher you through these channels. Consult this person to develop the best communication plan for your ministry activity.
Parking at Friendship
I have noticed that many cars are parked illegally during worship on Sunday morning. Are there any legal repercussions?
While we would like all to have a pleasant worship experience when they come to the Friendship campus, we cannot make you immune to the traffic laws of the city. Cars parked illegally are subject to fines and being towed by local law enforcement.
