Shabach Dance Ministry, founded by former youth minister Rev Cheryl D Moore began in 1998 with male and female youth of several ages with a strong passion to praise and worship through the art of dance. The youth were not trained dancers, however, their expressions shined through as they performed character and mime dancing to gospel inspirational music of Kirk Franklin and other popular artists enjoyed by youth.
Shabach has grown over the years and continues to keep the goal to help the dance members understand that we are merely instruments God uses to draw closer to Him. It is a blessing and privilege each time we are given the opportunity to minister through dance with others and share our praises as we give glory and honor to God.
Shabach Dance Ministry is more than dance. Shabach is a ministry and does have devotion and prayer; participates in mission projects; accepts requests to dance in the community and other churches; hold member retreats; attend workshops; dance conferences and one or two social outings as a group. There is required attire and other guidelines to remain a member.
Shabach Dance Ministry meets twice a month, second and third Sunday, 1:45-3:30 PM generally in the Fitness Center. Age requirement is 9-17.
