Seniors in the Spotlight
The Senior’s ministry at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church is dedicated in providing our senior citizen community opportunities and a platform for spiritual growth, fellowship and lifelong learning experiences. We attempt to develop relevant programs that will enhance knowledge, increase visibility of seniors, provide an information network support systems, and outlets for physical and recreational needs.
We offer a variety of recreational organized senior adults-oriented programs.
All trips, programs, activities, workshops and seminars are open to members and to the community aged 55 and over (caregivers are exceptions).

Various activities ranging from seminars (topics include but not limited to, financial planning, health, aging, retirement, Medicare, etc.) to birthday parties, games, socialization and more.

Our Care Team Ministry reaches out as a support system to members of our congregation ages 55 and over. We have been blessed by God to have individuals who have committed of their time and talents to serve as care giving members to this ministry. These volunteers make phone calls, assist seniors with daily living activities, home-bound/nursing home visits, minister to our Senior population at their time of suffering, grieving, loneliness and end of life preparation. Seniors have the opportunity to learn a wealth of information from senior industry professionals. Vendors are present to offer valuable information on community services, including insurance, independent/assisted living information, legal matters, financial concerns, and much more. Health screenings are also available. This event is open to all Seniors aged 55 and over an Care Givers.

Beginners and Intermediate
Eight week classes – (1 day a week) – FREE Seniors in the Spotlight continue to offer a basic computer class consisting of eight weeks of two-hour sessions.
- Students MUST complete outside reading assignments.
- Extensive lab exercises are used to enhance the learning experience
- Students will learn to use word processing, spreadsheets, the Internet, and email.
- Students will graduate with a personal email account.

LINE DANCING is not only dance for mental and physical EXERCISE but also for the pleasure of just having too much FUN with a group of friends. If the MUSIC APPEALS to a wide range of dancers and the line dance PATTERN FLOWS to the tune…then a dance will find its destiny.
Each session runs for 5 weeks.

Great day of fellowship and enjoying great movies.
Travel with us for low-cost day and overnight trips – around Charlotte and different states.
Our fall trip also includes our Annual Black and White Ball.
Have fun stretching and dancing your way with music to increase your muscular strength, physical function, flexibility and balance. A chair is used for seated or standing support. SilverSneaker members are free.

LEARN HISTORY THROUGH STAMPS. Stamps represent historical events, people and places. Its an easy stepping stone to learning as much or as little about history as you want. Stamps makes learning fun and you might not even realize that you are learning.
We meet every 3rd Tues., 12:00pm
An afternoon of entertaining fashions, food and celebration. The event showcases fashion apparel collections from winter, spring, summer and fall with a burst of colors and categories ranging from ready-to-wear to evening wear. FREE event.
