The Seniors in the Spotlight Stamp Club and the NC Ebony Society of Philatelic Events and Reflections (ESPER) is sponsoring a dedication of the 2023 Black Heritage Series stamp depicting an image of writer, Ernest Gaines. Mr. Ernest Gaines is best known for his novels “The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman” and “A Lesson Before Dying”. The stamp is the 46th in the Black Heritage Series.
The Gaines stamp and other postal memorabilia can be purchased at the event. The Charlotte Postmaster, Justin Henderson, will bring remarks and perform the stamp unveiling ceremony.
This event is free and will be in-person and virtual (Zoom).
