Friendship Missionary Baptist Church is a friendly and mission oriented church, a church that focuses on meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities. Friendship welcomes everyone – people from all walks of life come together to worship, pray, study God’s word and share the message of Jesus Christ as we engage in mission and ministry locally and globally. Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC was organized in 1890. Forty members of First Baptist Church, located at 1021 S. Church St., withdrew their membership by letter and, under the leadership of Rev. Allen Lewis, organized a new church. Sis. Rosa Watson offered the name FRIENDSHIP, taken from the historic Friendship Baptist Church of Atlanta.
