Date: March 15th
Scripture: Ruth 1:1-15 Naomi’s unexpected
losses: familiar, famine, widow, motherless, status in the community.
Thought: Due to the famine in Bethlehem,
Elimelech, his wife Naomi, and his two sons journey to Moab. While in Moab,
Naomi’s husband and two sons died. She transitioned from wife to widow and
mother to motherless woman. One coping mechanism for unexpected sacrifices is
grieving. Grieving can help us transition from sorrow to empowerment.
Prayer: Dear God, sometimes I am
spiritually famished. My soul feels uneasy with our political climate,
employment, the passing of loved ones, etc. Continue to remind me that your
love extends to what I do not understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Positive
Practice:
Repeat after me, ‘GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE ME!’
Lenten
Emphasis: Set aside
at least 10 minutes of silence (holy listening) each day and increase your
water intake by 16 ounces.
Mission
Emphasis:
Contact a significant woman in your life and say thanks for having an impact on
your life.
