Theme: They Followed, Not Knowing Where They Were Going
Today’s Scripture: Luke 6:12–19
Scripture: “Jesus spent the night in prayer… and when day came, he called his
disciples and chose twelve of them… They had come to hear him and to be
healed.” - Luke 6:12–19
Thought: The disciples committed to following Jesus before they fully understood
the destination. Their clarity came after commitment. Jesus prayed first, then
called ordinary people into extraordinary purpose. Faith often starts as
movement without clear direction. It’s about trusting that God knows the path
even when we don’t.
Prayer: Calling God, give us courage to follow when the future is unclear and
lead us toward healing and purpose. Amen.
Positive Practice: Take one faithful step today. Make the call, start the
task, or choose the rest you’ve been delaying trusting God with the outcome.
Lenten Emphasis - Heart Health for African Americans: Gentle routines like sleep, hydration,
and movement help stabilize the heart and mind during times of uncertainty.
Mission Emphasis - HBCUs: Support scholarships and mentorship
at HBCUs to help students nurture their callings.
