TODAY

TODAY'S LENTEN DEVOTIONAL

Date: March 21st

Scripture: Matthew 1:4, 5  Ruth is named in the lineage of Jesus.

Thought: Societal labels never define us the way God does. Ruth—a non-Israelite widow and foreigner—became Boaz's wife and the mother of Obed, the grandfather of King David. Her story powerfully illustrates God’s unique perspective.

Prayer: Dear God, we live in a world that labels some humans as less than. Help me to continue to remind myself that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Positive Practice: Romans 12:2 (NRSV), “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God – what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Lenten Emphasis: We have reduced our sugar consumption and processed foods, exercised for 30 minutes per day, and used positive affirmations. Celebrate how far you’ve come—keep going strong and finish this journey with renewed purpose!

Mission Emphasis: We celebrate girls, young ladies, and women! Remember that in God’s eyes, we are kind, beautiful, intelligent, and much, much, more!
